[ARCHIVED] Glenwood Springs Opens Public Buildings to Employees and Appointments June 1, 2020

The City of Glenwood Springs will reopen public buildings to employees on June 1, 2020. Public buildings will be open to the public by pre-arranged appointment only until further notice. Face coverings and social distancing required.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO –The City of Glenwood Springs will reopen public buildings to employees on June 1, 2020. This includes the Community Center, City Hall, the Police Department Administrative office, the Fire Department Administrative office, and the Art Center. Public buildings will be open to the public by pre-arranged appointment only at this time.

The City of Glenwood Springs is following reopening protocol for businesses with over 50 employees set forth by the Safer at Home Public Health Order 20-28. This includes symptom monitoring protocols and strict COVID-19 suppression measures. Virtual City Hall will continue with many employees continuing to work remotely.

Members of the public can request appointments with staff for items an in-person meeting is deemed necessary. Appointments should be requested a minimum 48 hours in advance. Employees and members of the public are required to wear face coverings and follow social distancing recommendations while inside any public building. 

The Community Center and recreation programs remain closed to the public. The City is working on a plan that will allow the Community Center to safely open under the current guidelines. The City will continue to evaluate operations based on recommendations from Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Garfield County Public Health.
